Jack Salzman, Managing Partner – Jack is a principal and founding member of Kings Point Capital Management and is a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Jack oversees all equity related investments and co-chairs the firm’s Investment Committee.
Jack Salzman began his career some 42 years ago as a securities analyst at Standard and Poors. Throughout the 1970’s he worked at a number of small research boutiques while he concentrated his expertise in consumer product companies.
In 1978, he joined Smith Barney as a senior security analyst and by 1980, he emerged as the number one ranked analyst in Household Products in Institutional Investor Magazine’s prestigious All America Research Team poll. In 1985, he joined Goldman Sachs and became the highest rated analyst by Institutional Investor Magazine’s analyst poll in two different areas (Household Products and Cosmetics). Indeed, he attained this number one ranking 13 times in Household Products and 7 times in Cosmetics during his career as a security analyst.
At Goldman Sachs, his analyst responsibilities expanded in 1990 when he was named Associate Director of Research. Throughout his tenure at Goldman Sachs, he participated in a variety of investment banking activities. He worked on many merger transactions as well as numerous restructurings, refinancings and divestitures. Throughout his years at Goldman Sachs, he either led or oversaw a variety of initial public offerings as well. By 1994, Mr. Salzman became a General Partner of Goldman Sachs (and Managing Director in 1996) while also rising to the position of U.S. Director of Research Marketing and Product Development.
Mr. Salzman was also a member of the Investment Policy Committee and the U.S. Stock Selection Committee of Goldman Sachs. In 1997, he became co-chair of the Global Priority List Committee. He also sat on the U.S. Priority List Committee, Convertible Bond Recommended List Committee, and the stock selection committee for the Private Client Focus List. Mr. Salzman also was a board member of the Stone Street Fund, a private investment fund for senior employees of Goldman Sachs.
As a graduate of Pace University in New York, he has been an active contributor to his Alma Mater. In December 1997, he was the fifth recipient of the Lubin Alumni Achievement Award. In 2001, Mr. Salzman joined the Board of Trustees of Pace University. In 2005, he was appointed Chairman of the Endowment Committee of Pace University and is also a member of its Pension Committee.
Mr. Salzman is active in his community and serves on the Board of Trustees of Temple Emanuel in Great Neck where he lives with his family.
Jeffrey Bates, Managing Director – Jeff is a Managing Director and founding member of Kings Point Capital Management and is a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Jeff serves as the senior relationship manager for all clients and co-chairs the firm’s Investment Committee. He specializes in tactical asset allocation and oversees all fixed income related investments.
After a distinguished career as a Vice President in the Private Client Services Division of Goldman Sachs, he co-founded a boutique, investment advisory firm called Green Square Capital, LLC in September, 2001. During his tenure, the firm obtained and managed over $700 million in client assets and, in 2003 and 2005, was listed in Bloomberg Magazine Top Wealth Managers.
He graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from Tufts University in 1984 and earned the distinction of “Fuqua Scholar” while obtaining an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University. Jeff, a cancer survivor, sits on the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation's 2010 Board of Directors. In addition, he is an active martial artist and holds Black Belt degrees in two separate systems.
Billy Dutton, Jr., CPA, CFA Financial Analyst – Billy is a Certified Public Accountant and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. He specializes in fundamental research for master limited partnerships and other equity securities.
Prior to joining Kings Point Capital Management, he served as the Chief Compliance Officer & Chief Financial Officer at Green Square Capital and was responsible for I/A and B/D compliance & financial reporting. Prior to this position, he served as the Controller for Revenue Assurance Professionals and as the Treasurer for Randell Commodity Corporation.
He holds a BBA degree in accounting and an MBA, with a finance concentration, from the University of Memphis.
Rosemarie Hugel, Vice President – Rosemarie joined Kings Point Partners in 2003 and serves as primary customer support for the firm’s clients.
She has worked in the administrative field for over twenty-five years. Her extensive experience includes working with executive management, providing administrative and project support in the areas of Corporate Administration, Client Development, and Operations. Her industry background includes legal administration, healthcare, and telecommunications.
Hadley Doolittle, Financial Analyst – Hadley joined Kings Point Capital Management in March, 2006. She performs quantitative analytics and specializes in asset allocation.
She graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University earning a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics. She also studied at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.
Melissa Melton, Office Administrator – Melissa is responsible for all aspects of client support. Prior to joining KPCM, she served as the primary Customer Service Specialist for Ingram Marine Group where she was responsible for processing data and providing support in order to fulfill customer needs and ensure customer satisfaction. She also served as an education administrator for three years at various schools in Tennessee.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is an Alumnus of the Delta Alpha Chapter of the Chi Omega Fraternity and a member of the Nashville Area Junior Chamber of Commerce.
