Recognition Disclosures

Barron’s Magazine

Barron’s Top Financial Advisor rankings are based on data provided by over 4,000 of the nation’s most productive advisors.  Factors included in the rankings are: assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record, quality of practice and philanthropic work.  Investment performance is not an explicit component of the rankings because not all advisors have audited results and because performance figures often are in part influenced by clients’ risk tolerance than by an advisor’s investment-picking abilities.

Jeffery Bates is the ranked financial advisor at Kings Point Capital Management L.L.C.  The ranking may not be representative of any one client’s experience because it reflects the experience of multiple clients and other factors indicated above.  The ranking is not indicative of future performance.  Kings Point Capital Management L.L.C. did not pay to participate in Barron’s Top Financial Advisor rankings and is not affiliated with Barron’s Magazine.

Forbes

Forbes’ Best-In-State Wealth Advisors rankings, developed by SHOOK Research, are based on an algorithm of qualitative criteria, mostly gained through telephone and in-person due diligence interviews, and quantitative data.  Advisors considered have a minimum of seven years’ experience, and the algorithm weights factors like revenue trends, assets under management, compliance records, industry experience and those that encompass best practices in their practices and approach to working with clients.  Portfolio performance is not a criteria due to varying client objectives and lack of audited data.  Over 3,000 advisors across the country were selected for the rankings out of nearly 30,000 nominations.

Financial Times

The Financial Times’ list of top US registered investment advisers (RIAs) is based on quantifiable and objective criteria.  300 RIAs were selected for the list out of approximately 725 RIAs with AUM of at least $300,000,000.  The Financial Times’ selection formula is based on 6 broad based factors: assets under management (“AUM”), asset growth, a company’s age, industry certifications of key employees, SEC compliance records and online accessibility.  Each advisor is assigned a numeric score calculated based on the foregoing factors.  AUM is the most heavily weighted factor, comprising of roughly 65-70% of each adviser’s score.  The list is meant to identify an elite group of RIAs and is not a competitive ranking. Research for the list was conducted by Ignites Research, a Financial Times sister publication.

The ranking may not be representative of any one client’s experience because it reflects the experience of multiple clients and other factors indicated above.  The ranking is not indicative of future performance.  Kings Point Capital Management L.L.C. did not pay to be on the Financial Times’ list of top RIAs and is not affiliated with the Financial Times or Ignites Research.

Financial Advisor Magazine

Financial Advisor Magazine’s registered investment adviser (RIA) ranking is based on responses from RIAs who complete a survey. To be included in the ranking, firms need to be independent RIAs who perform financial planning as part of their business services. Firms are ranked based on information surveyed, which includes each RIA’s number of clients, AUM, growth in AUM during the previous year and the percentage of growth in AUM per client.

The ranking may not be representative of any one client’s experience because it reflects the experience of multiple clients and other factors indicated above.  The ranking is not indicative of future performance.  Kings Point Capital Management L.L.C. did not pay to participate in the Financial Advisor Magazine’s RIA rankings and is not affiliated with the Financial Advisor Magazine.

Institutional Investor

Jack Salzman was selected to the Institutional Investor’s All-America Research Team Hall of Fame in 2011. The Hall of Fame honors analysts with ten or more first-place appearances on the All-America Research Team.  Members are selected to the Institutional Investor’s All America Research through solicited opinions of directors of research and heads of investment at institutions with major securities holdings in the US. Sectors are organized within broad categories: Basic Materials; Capital Goods/Industrials; Consumer; Energy; Financial Institutions; Health Care; Technology, Media & Telecommunications; and Economics & Strategy. Rankings are determined strictly by using numerical scores.  Numerical scores are determined by reviewing the number of votes awarded to each analyst and weighting the votes based on the size of the institution responding and the place it awarded to that analyst.  Analysts must be certified pursuant to Regulation AC to be recognized as winners or team leaders in all research sectors, although no such restriction applies to the sectors in the Economics & Strategy category.

Selection to the All-America Research Team or the Hall of Fame is not indicative of any one client’s experience because it reflects the opinions of directors of research and heads of investment at institutions with major securities holdings in the US.  The selection is not indicative of future performance.  Kings Point Capital Management L.L.C. did not pay to have Jack Salzman selected to any All-America Research Term or the Hall of Fame, although it did purchase reprints.
