Jeffrey Bates
Jeff is a founding member of Kings Point Capital Management and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Jeff serves as the senior relationship manager for all clients and co-chairs the firm’s Investment Committee. He specializes in tactical asset allocation and oversees all fixed income related investments.
After a distinguished career as a Vice President in the Private Client Services Division of Goldman Sachs, he co-founded a boutique investment advisory firm in September 2001. During his tenure, the firm obtained and managed over $700 mill in client assets. In 2005, he co-founded Kings Point Capital Management. Under his leadership, the firm has been recognized as a top investment advisory firm on numerous occasions in Barron’s Magazine, Advisor One and Wealth Manager Magazine.
He graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from Tufts University in 1984 and also earned the distinction of “Fuqua Scholar” while obtaining an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Jeff is a cancer survivor and has served on the board for the PearlPoint Cancer Foundation. In addition, he is an active martial artist and holds Black Belt degrees in two separate systems.
